Jose and his team were very helpful and professional in helping fix extensive water damage through multiple parts of the house.  They were communicative through the assessment, demolition, and cleaning process from start to finish.  They worked quickly and efficiently to help resolve the issue and were courteous and safe the whole time.

This review is long overdue! Truly professionals at work and couldn't be happier with SERVPRO of San Mateo. No one would ever imagine a refrigerator supply line flooding your entire 1st floor and I thought I would never see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was visiting my brother who lives in San Fran! Go 49ers!!! 2 weeks ago when we had a major issue with the dishwasher, the machine started dumping water while we were watching the football games in the evening and we didn't notice until the kitchen and part of the dining area was completely soaked! Neither one of us has ever been in a situation like that and it is disconcerting to say the least. We immediately started getting towels but it was just too much water. Our neighbor heard the commotion (it's an apartment building) and gave us the card of some restoration company called SERVPRO of San Mateo. I ended up calling as my brother was wringing out towels in the bathtub. A guy named Stephen answered and I explained the situation. He said he would get somebody out there within 2 hours and that actually happened to my surprise. We ended up stopping the water flow by turning off the valve, but the water that was already on the floor stayed there until SERVPRO of San Mateo came out and sucked it all up with this big green machine that looked kind of like a vacuum with a water tank. They set up some fans and because they came out so quickly, my brothers floors were salvaged. 3 days later they removed the fans and the place was pretty much back to how it was.  The dishwasher caused the problems so we asked SERVPRO to dispose of it and they took it and junked it. It was a really old unit so if you have an old dishwasher, be careful! Thank you to Stephen and SERVPRO for the fast response.

I needed my chandelier cleaned, it was covered in, dust, grease and smoke, regular household dirt and was afraid to do it myself.  I looked high and low for someone who did that sort of thing, but could not find anyone.  Surprise, not only does SERVPRO of San Mateo clean up after an accident, but, they do an extensive cleaning of items in your home.  I called on Wednesday, had an appointment for Friday at 10 am. My refrigerator water line burst in my home in Burlingame when I was picking up my kids for school. I was out of the house for only two hours and In that time 4 inches of water covered about 2000 square feet of the fitst story of my home. I returned home and water was coming out of my door, spilling into my front porch. This was one of the worst and most stressful experiences of my life! I immediately called my insurance agent and he got me in touch with SERVPRO San Mateo. Stephen called me a few minutes later and told me this is something they deal with all the time (who would have known something like this happens so often??) and that they would be at my house as soon as they could. In about 1 hour and 15 minutes  Stephen showed up with 4 other people and they began sucking up the water off of my floor. They backed up one of their trucks in my driveway and used this really loud machine to suck up the water. In about 2 hours a half, all the puddles were gone and they started placing fans Nd some other machines in the house to dry the floors. I ended up having to go to a hotel for 2 days while this all happened, unfortunately. They ended up having to remove my baseboards but did not have to remove much of my flooring and the wood cabinets were ok too. SERVPRO's communication was good and they helped me through the insurance claim process. My agent said he recommended them because he has used them before for his other clients and they were always reliable. They were professional throughout the process.

My wife and I came home from her favorite restaurants to find water was raining down from our 2nd-floor bathroom down to our dining room. A water supply hoes busted spraying water everywhere.

Their project manager was very knowledgeable and patient. He responded to all my questions and anticipated the job evolution so I could understand what was going on all the time. Also, their crew members were experienced, professional and organized. Hopefully, I don’t have to experience another water damage emergency; but if I do, for sure I would contact SERVPRO of San Mateo.

My water heater leaked from underneath at my second home causing a massive water damage. I wasn't in town at the time and it quikly flooded into my garage. Thankfully my neighbor helped and shut off my main valve. I ended up calling SERVPRO San Mateo before boarding my plane back home. When I arrived a few hours later they had 3 guys there extracting the water. They spent a few hours and set up these fans. They were loud but they ended up drying everything out. They said I was lucky most of the water spilled onto the concrete and not inside the house. A few days later they picked up everything and showed me it was all dry.

As someone who rarely writes Yelp reviews, I feel compelled to do so in this case because of my exceptional experience with SERVPRO in San Mateo. I had never had to do any type of industrial clean-up at my house before, and as a result, didn't really know where to turn. A friend of mine told me about this particular SERVPRO (there are several, and I believe each is managed or possibly owned separately), and even though I live in San Francisco, the fact they're in San Mateo didn't matter. Apparently, they service a wide area. 

The issue I had was in my garage, where a fairly small amount of sewage was backing up through the drain. I called SERVPRO, which sent someone out to assess the cleanup work that would be needed. He told me it would involve tearing up the carpet that's in my garage (don't ask why there's carpet there). Although I wasn't happy with that solution, I figured that was the only means of ensuring there wouldn't be any health issues down the road. The next day, Fabian Valadez was sent to do the job. What a gem. Not only was he a total pleasure, he came up with a work-around that allowed me to keep my carpet, get it clean and, no less, get it back to a healthful state. He worked quickly and efficiently, and was lovely to deal with. The job was done, and best of all, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg.

All I can say is that when it comes to this type of work, I am grateful for not only having had such a positive experience but also having been assigned Fabian to do the work. Hopefully I won't need this type of work again, but if I do, I will definitely be calling this SERVPRO and asking for Fabian.

The building I manage had a massive flood after a fire set off the sprinkler system.  I was referred to by SERVPRO of San Mateo by a friend who also works for a property management company.  I called them and they were on site within two hours ready to go.  They extracted water and began placing equipment down.  The job took over 10 days but throughout the entire process SERVPRO of San Mateo, and especially Carolina, kept us well informed and were in touch the entire time.  I would highly recommend them.  

Fabian and his team are the best! I had previously worked with another mold company and had a horrible experience. They took twice as long as they said they would and ended up costing twice the amount. After reading hundreds of reviews, I decided I would give SERVPRO of San Mateo a try, and I'm so glad I did! He showed up on time and meant business. He wasted no time in figuring out was going on and calling a company he trusts to come do an air test, on the same day! As soon as we were ready to proceed with the cleaning, Fabian and his team showed up on time and took care of everything. I had a terrible fire loss in my home, due to the oven. As I'm sure you may imagine it was bad! There was smoke all over my house and my kitchen got ruined. I was devastated we had just remodeled the kitchen one year prior to the incident. I contact my insurance and the y gave me SERVPRO of San Mateo's phone number I called them around 5:30 in the afternoon, Carolina took my call and she was so nice, she asked me questions regarding the house and what had happened I tried to respond to all her questions but I was so devastated she understood me. The difference between a company "in the business" and a company that "knows their business" is how they react under pressure and the recent rain storms in December 2016 certainly brought pressure to bear.
We arrived to our business one morning after being gone for ten days only to discover that our atrium drain had become blocked and the rain water flooded the atrium and two rooms in our restaurant. The next day I contacted SERVPRO of San Mateo and, as luck would have it, Fabian was working right down the street. He came to our house, assessed the situation and laid out a plan of action. In the meantime, rain came down by the bucket and Fabian became the most popular man in town.
Long story short, Fabian got things under control in short order and provided us with name and numbers of contractors to put things back in order. Complete restoration is going to be a long process but the fact that we're dry and free of mold is the best first step.

I had a flood when I was out of town for Christmas and insurance told me to contact a restoration company,  thankfully I found these guys.  All I have to say is look no further they are a class act, Fabian the project manager came out and assessed the situation and went straight to work with his team.  He was very easy to work with and explained the process in its entirety.    As you can imagine, the stress involved in dealing with water damage is no fun but he seamlessly eased the situation.  My place is now dry and we're ready for reconstruction.

I called 3 other companies and all I got was an answering machine. Funny how those things always happen on the weekend!
SERVPRO was SUPER responsive. Fabian called me back within a few hours and came the next day to assess the damage. Allen and his crew helped me every step of the way! They set up equipment to dry the room right away. They are nice, understanding, and reassuring. We all know how stressful those situations are. Having someone that is NOT trying to take advantage of the situation is so important! Fabian is just that! A good guy that will do his best to help you out! Those guys have a ton of experience and have seen it all. They deal with the insurance company and take the right steps to get you out of troubles.
Highly recommended. We hope we won't have anymore issues with the house, but If we do, we will call them again without a doubt.

I had a new dishwasher installed recently and the installer didn't connect the water line properly.  It ended up flooding our kitchen floor and ruined my hardwood floors.  Insurance paid for the damages but it was a really stressful experience.  The adjuster recommended I use SERVPRO of San Mateo to dry out my floors and they ended up minimizing the damages and saving a portion of the floors.  Even though the water damage and flooding were stressful, SERVPRO San Mateo saving a portion of my floors was a silver lining.  

We live in a 1950's era house in Hillsborough CA.  I guess the roof needs repairing because water got in between our walls and caused a lot of mold damage.   We went to SERVPRO.com and found a location near us in San Mateo.  We called SERVPRO of San Mateo and they came out and bid us for some mold clean up.  We got 2 other bids but SERVPRO's was a bit cheaper.  SERVPRO cleaned up the mold and was very professional.  Thank you again.

The recent storms in Burlingame California (San Mateo County) caused our crawlspace to fill up with 12 inches of standing water.  It almost damaged our   We called SERVPRO and they came out the next day.  They pumped the water out and dried out the crawlspace in 3 days.  It was a really stressful situation as we had just purchased our home 3 months ago.  Thank you again to SERVPRO.

These guys are great, my crawl space beneath my place had slowly filled with water from a small leaky pipe over a period of time. The crew responded promptly & arrived that day to pressure wash the area and have it sprayed down with chemicals to prevent any future mold growth. It saved me a lot of hassle having professionals do this job for me. Also, the price was on the cheaper side compared to another company I had received an estimate from. I would highly recommend.

The communication was a little slow at times when confirming the time, but the service itself was excellent. We had a garage that used to house an auto shop, so it was covered in... who knows what. It was never going to come completely clean, but after SERVPRO, it looks much better than it did before and we can feel a lot safer using it now.

A pipe connected to my mom's water heater broke and flooded her garage. Logan at SERVPRO San Mateo was really helpful and responsive. They extracted the water and set up a lot of fans. He showed me where the walls were affected and dried the garage and walls. When he was finished he showed me how dry everything was with his moisture meter.
